Join us for a free creative activity where you can enjoy some free food and drink and talk about what’s important to your life here in Redbridge.
What are ‘Here We Share’ workshops?
They’re free creative sessions to meet new people, enjoy tasty treats, and share what really matters about your life in Redbridge. The stories you share will help to shape the next phase of Colours of Redbridge’s award‑winning programme of community-led arts and culture.
At each workshop you’ll also get to explore our beautiful touring Truck Art installation, celebrating things that make Redbridge special, from your favourite landmarks to pets, gardens, food and music.
What is the format of the session?
You will get to try a variety of creative activities, including:
- Postcard designs, capturing happy memories through visual art such as cross stitch, marbling, collage, poetry or another creative skill
- Creating a message in a bottle, sharing your hopes or wishes for Redbridge
- A chalkboard photo booth where you write down something you’ve always wanted to try and take home an instant-photo keepsake
We’ll also bring free chai, tea, mango juice, homemade biscuits or mango kulfi ice cream, because good conversations happen over good snacks. Note that the menu may be subject to change.
How can I book?
Booking is not required for these events; you can just turn up on the day. However, if you use the booking link and register through Bookwhen, we will keep you up to date with any changes on the run up to the event, and it also helps to give us an idea of numbers.
You can find us at:
- Fabula Takes Over Redbridge Central Library – Saturday 18 July (12:00-16:00)
- Disability Festival in the Park – Wednesday 22 July, Christchurch Green, Wanstead (12:00-17:00)
- Redbridge Outdoor Arts – Saturday 25 July, Ken Aston Square, Barkingside (12:00-15:30)
Note that timings are approximate and spaces for the workshops will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis. We recommend arriving early to avoid disappointment. For more information, email hello@colours.red.
Who is this for?
If you’ve already been to a Colours of Redbridge event, we would greatly appreciate if you could bring along a friend, neighbour, relative or family member from Redbridge and introduce them to what Colours of Redbridge is all about. We’re excited to hear from new voices to help shape our future events.
What will I get out of it?
Your stories and ideas will directly impact the next phase of our programme (previous ideas got made into huge projects seen by thousands of people!), plus you’ll meet new people, get some free food and drink and enjoy a free creative activity.
Access
All our activities are step-free with facilities such as accessible toilets. Most activities can be easily adapted for people with varying disabilities or neurodiversity. Please email us at access@colours.red to discuss your requirements.
