Rediscover Redbridge 2026
About the Project

Rediscover Redbridge was a vibrant celebration of local creativity, and had taken place on Wednesday 8 April, bringing together free workshops, gallery spaces, stalls, and a packed programme of activities led by creative and cultural organisations across the borough. It offered the perfect opportunity for residents to get inspired and explore the wealth of artistic experiences available right on their doorstep.

Visitors enjoyed an exciting mix of hands‑on activities, from Truck Art and marbling to giant sculptures, face painting, story times, dance workshops and more. Every activity was completely free, encouraging people of all ages to try something new and discover the creative possibilities within the community.

The day was filled with energetic performances from groups including Rambert’s Dance for Fitness, Beeja Dance, Ambassadors of Dhol, Cavaliers Dance Together, SMK Arts Academy, Karan’s Bollywood Masterclass and Redbridge Music Lounge. Each performance brought its own unique flair, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere throughout the event.

Workshops and Performances

To help residents explore new hobbies and artistic interests, a variety of workshops were available. These included food‑story sharing, marbling, dance for fitness, glass painting, storytimes and Bollywood dance sessions – offering something for everyone to enjoy.

Throughout Rediscover Redbridge, visitors could take part in creative workshops, watch films with Redbridge Outdoor Arts, explore dual‑language storybooks, enjoy face painting and giant games with Redbridge Libraries, and view family art exhibitions from Farnham Green Primary School. There were also giant fans from Kinetika, knitting spaces with Witty Stitchers, coding with Lab Central, music tours and badge making with Redbridge Museum and Heritage Centre, radio takeovers with Nagrecha, pop‑up galleries with Barkingside Art Club, portrait drawing with Ilford Art Society, and activity stalls from Sharesbrook Arts and Redbridge Music Service.

There was no shortage of excitement, every corner of the event offered something new to discover.
